About

We are a top-notch research institution with a land-grant mission that excels in public service, teaching, and academics. True to its name, NMSU is a reflection of the region's thriving communities. It is a stimulating environment for problem-solving, locating solutions to pressing problems, and future planning.

More than 14,000 students from all across the United States and 89 other countries are enrolled at New Mexico State University's (main campus), which occupies 900 acres. As the first Honors College in New Mexico, NMSU is a NASA Space-Grant College. With four campuses, an off-campus learning centre in Albuquerque, cooperative extension offices in each of the state's 33 counties, and 12 agriculture research and science centres, NMSU, a Hispanic-Serving Institution, provides educational services to a diverse population of students and community members throughout the state. Additionally, distant learning courses offer students the most freedom.

The New Mexico State University system's goal is to meet the wide range of needs of the state by offering comprehensive programmes in public service, extension and outreach, teaching, and research. The New Mexico State Institution promotes learning, inquiry, diversity and inclusion, socioeconomic mobility, and service to the larger community in its capacity as the state's land-grant and space-grant university and as a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
