A public institution of higher learning, Arkansas Tech University offers degrees at the certificate, associate, bachelor, master's, educational specialist, and doctorate levels. It was established in 1909 as the Second District Agricultural School, and on October 26, 1910, courses were held on the site near Russellville.
In 1925, the organization's name was changed to Arkansas Polytechnic College, and in 1976, it became Arkansas Tech University. ATU-Ozark Campus, formerly known as the Arkansas Valley Technical Institute, merged with ATU in 2003.
The ATU Board of Trustees and the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board both approve the ATU curriculum. Together, the faculty, staff, board of trustees, and coordination board at Arkansas Tech strive to create an environment where communities flourish, innovation can flourish, and students can succeed.
