About

Temple institution (often known as TU) is a public research institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Russell Conwell, a Baptist pastor, created it in 1884. Conwell arrived in Pennsylvania in 1882 to serve the Grace Baptist Church, while also instructing working-class individuals late at night to meet their work schedules. These pupils, termed "night owls" subsequently, were educated in the basement of Conwell's Baptist Temple, thus the university's name and mascot. By 1907, the school had updated its institutional position and had become a university.
