A-State is the driving force behind Northeast Arkansas' economy and culture. As the first osteopathic medical school in the state of Arkansas, it hosts the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine there. It also collaborated with O'Reilly Management to build the Red Wolf Convention Center and Embassy Suites.
