Cleveland, Ohio's Cleveland State Institution (CSU) is a public research university. After acquiring the whole Fenn College, a private institution that had been in existence since 1923, it was founded in 1964 and began offering classes in 1965. In 1969, CSU took over the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, which is now known as the Cleveland State University College of Law. Today, it provides more than 200 academic programmes, has over 120,000 alumni, and is a member of the University System of Ohio. It belongs to the category of "R2: Doctoral Universities - High Research Activity."
