The Gujarati government founded the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management as an autonomous university with the goal of significantly altering engineering education in terms of technical and managerial skills in the area of infrastructure. The goal of this institute is to act as a centre of excellence for research and instruction in all areas related to infrastructure, and the organisation envisions achieving national prominence in these fields.

Civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering bachelor's and master's degree programmes are offered at the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research And Management. Additionally, the Institute provides Ph.D. programmes in a range of basic science, engineering, humanities, and social science subjects. English is used as both the instruction language and the examination language.
