The Centre for Management Development (CMD) was founded in 1983 by noted philanthropist industrialist Dr. K. N. Modi. For him, responsible corporate citizenship entailed far more than becoming established business leaders in one's chosen field.
It entailed cultivating excellence, developing a talent pool, and creating a resource pool that would broaden the horizon of Indian enterprise and its eminence in the global arena by exploring avenues that would allow individuals to fully realise their potential. These aspiring leaders would contribute to the national fabric and spread these ideals to future generations. With this as a guiding force, CMD's modest beginnings in 1983 have blossomed into one of Northern India's premier Management Institutes over the course of 39 years.
