In the most recent Setara evaluation exercise, the Malaysian government gave the university a 5-star "excellent" grade. With numerous prestigious foreign universities, such as Harvard University, the Universities of Oxford, and Cambridge, we have established strong partnerships. Through our Jeffrey Cheah outstanding Speakers series of public lectures, several outstanding visiting academics from the latter give sporadic talks to our University and the larger Sunway City community. These bear the names of Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah, who founded Sunway City and the university and who also serves as chairman of Sunway Group, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Malaysia and the company that built Sunway City.
Because of our strong ties to Lancaster University in the UK, many of our students are also eligible for Lancaster degrees.
