There is nothing else like the Australian National University (ANU) in Australia. Our mission, when we were founded in 1946, was to assist Australia in realising its full potential as the globe began to emerge from a major crisis.

Since then, our aim has been to foster the growth of national identity and togetherness, deepen our awareness of ourselves and our neighbours, and give our country access to education in fields that are crucial to its future as well as research capacity that is among the greatest in the world.

It can be challenging work, but it's work we proudly undertake because, as Australia's national university, it's not just our approach; it's also our national role and international responsibility, and it's a role from which we'll never stray. We connect talented individuals with diverse perspectives, equip and encourage them to address the most complex problems of tomorrow, and ensure Australia's future.
