According to Government Letter No. 31432/HE, dated 06.08.2021, the Khallikote Unitary University began operations on August 1st, 2021. In 1856, a school in Berhampur opened its doors. A year later, in 1878, it changed its name to an intermediate college. Native College was its previous name. In recognition of the Raja of Khallikote's kind donation of 16.5 Acres of land, the college was given the name Khallikote Autonomous College in 1893. In association with Berhampur University, degree programmes in arts, science, and commerce were introduced in 1944, mathematics in 1963, and other courses in succeeding years. Since 2015, it has served as a lead college that is linked with Khallikote University once more. In 2021, this school underwent revitalization and embarked on a new journey with the intention of fostering success, innovation, and creativity.
