The Somaiya Vidyavihar Complex was founded in 1959 by late Shri K.J. Somaiya (1902-1999). Endowed with a sharp business acumen, a balanced perspective and a social bent of mind, Karamshibhai set up the Somaiya Trust in 1953 for furthering his dream of shaping young minds through quality education. For this purpose he bought a large area of land at Ghatkopar, then considered to be distant, meagrely populated.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam in Commerce/Science on the first try. He must have received at least 55% aggregate marks to be eligible for the BAF/BAF (Honours)/BBF/BFM/Bcom (Honours) program.
  • A candidate who has completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from the IB Board shall be given either an IB certificate or a DP with 24 credits, having passed three HL (Higher Level) (12 credits) and three SL (Standard Level) (9 credits) from any stream.
  • Outstanding athletes at the national or international level will be granted a 5% discount, subject to verification by the admission committee.
  • If the mark sheet produced by the appropriate Board / Institution is in percentile/s, the real aggregate percentage of all subjects taken into consideration by the candidate.
  • Foreign students/candidates who have completed their (10+2) examinations from Overseas Universities are eligible if they meet the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the various statutory bodies in India and obtain a 'Equivalency Certificate' from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
  • Candidates beyond the age of 21 are not eligible to apply. Differently abled students get a 5-year grace period, whereas female students have a 3-year grace period.
  • Those candidates who have passed or are appearing for a 10+2 examination from a Board/University where Grade Point Average is offered must submit the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA acquired in writing from the Board/University concerned.
  • Candidates whose final mark sheet is not available at the time of enrollment must produce an online copy of their results, fully signed by the principal of their school or college, or they will be denied entrance to the program.
  • Only a single mark sheet with all obligatory topics taken and passed in only one try will be accepted; no segmented mark sheets will be accepted.
  • If any topic is marked as ungraded/fail on the marksheet / grade sheet, the candidate is ineligible.
  • Candidates taking their final 10+2 or equivalent test can also apply, but they must acquire the needed minimum cut off marks and submit all relevant documents in original within the time frame specified.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A candidate must have passed and obtained a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std XII) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education OR its equivalent in any stream from any board of any State, with English and Mathematics as one of the subjects, to be eligible for admission to the three-year integrated program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications.
  • If there is a tie, merit will be determined using Math marks.

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with a concentration in Science/Mathematics/Pharmacy/Law/Management/Fine Arts/Performing Arts must have 55% or above.
