The Government of Maharashtra created the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University as a Unitary University under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXII of 1989. By means of Maharashtra Act No. XXIX of 2014, the Maharashtra government later changed the university into an affiliated technological university in 2016, with the state of Maharashtra as its jurisdiction.

Over 240 institutions are currently associated with the university, which currently has over one lakh students enrolled.

This university's vast 468-acre campus serves as a centre for education for the entire state.

From across the state, the university draws deserving students and develops them into employable engineers and capable technocrats.

For the advantage of the industries, this university offers well-equipped laboratories with testing and analysis equipment that can be expanded. The university also provides amenities like a meeting room, theatre, playground, workshop, and computing resources. The university offers roomy, air-conditioned dorms with all the necessities.

The university is fortunate to have highly skilled faculty that are dedicated to transferring the greatest knowledge possible through efficient teaching and learning processes. The academics and employees at the university constantly strive for greatness since they see it as a difficult task.

Additionally, universities give students the environment and opportunity for research and invention that foster entrepreneurship.
