Regional Engineering College was founded in July of 1963 and began operations in Kurukshetra in 1965-66. With effect from 1985-86, the Institute began offering a four-year B.Tech. degree programme, as well as an M.Tech. degree programme in Electronics Engineering.
With effect from 26.6.2002, the Government of India promoted REC Kurukshetra to National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, and granted it the status of Deemed University.
It offers diverse engineering and technology disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as outstanding facilities for advanced research in developing science and technology fields. The syllabus and curricula are regularly updated to satisfy the country's rising expectations and needs in various fields of technology, with the appropriate infrastructure and qualified faculty.
