Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) Longowal has received Deemed University status in 2007 to run various UG and PG courses under its own Academic patterns. The courses of study are organized on semester system (i.e. two semesters in an academic year). Each semester spans for eighteen weeks (i.e. 90 days) excluding end semester examinations. The academic study schemes at each level are balanced with a number of co-curricular activities. Special lectures /invited talks by eminent personalities on varied topic of academic relevance are organized at department level. To motivate and encourage the students, a counseling system is also in-place which involves various faculty members as chief counselor and class counselors. Students are evaluated on a continuous basis throughout the semester by the course coordinators. The medium of instruction is English for all the courses run by the Institute.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates should satisfy the following requirements as outlined by the institute in order to be considered for admission to the three-year full-time Ph.D. program.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

  • Master's degree with 55% of the possible points in the appropriate fields of engineering, technology, science, humanities, or management (or 50% for protected categories) (MCA degree is not eligible for Ph.D.in CSE).
  •  Master's degree holders or professionals with a professional degree deemed equivalent to the Master's degree by the relevant statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% overall marks or its equivalent grade "B" in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems are used), or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency that is approved, recognized, or authorized by the government
  •  Those who fall under the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled and other categories of candidates, as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had earned their Master's degree prior to September 19, 1991, should be granted a 5% relaxation of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade. The relaxation of 5% to the above-mentioned categories and the eligibility mark of 55% (or an equal grade on a point scale, wherever grading is used) are both permitted based solely on the qualifying marks, excluding the grace mark processes.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates for the two-year Full-Time MBA program should satisfy the following requirements, according to the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

The applicant who receives at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (or 50% for candidates from reserved categories) and

  •  has a B.Tech./B.E. degree from an accredited university or institute in the relevant discipline.

OR

  •  has three years of professional experience in a reputable organization and passed Section "B" of the Institute of Engineers (India) or Grade IETE.

ENTRANCE EXAM

  • One of the following entry exams, the GATE, must be passed by candidates.

  • Candidates for admission to the 3-year full-time Diploma program must satisfy the requirements listed below.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

  • The candidates must have successfully completed their tenth grade in English, mathematics, and science from a State Education Board, CBSE, ICSE, National Open School, or another similar test recognized or authorized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India. Subject to providing the results at the time of admission, those who are taking the matriculation test may also apply.
  • The All India SLIET Entrance Exam will serve as the foundation for admission to all ICD programs (SET-I)
