In 2006, the College of Veterinary Sciences in Ludhiana was renamed Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University.
Designed after the style of land grant universities in the United States
Has played an important part in raising food production in Punjab state and ushering in an era of Green Revolution in India.
Has made significant contributions to expanding livestock and poultry output in the state.
