The late Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay The state institution Shekhawati University, formerly known as Shekhawati University, is located in the village of Katrathal in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, India, 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) away from Sikar. Students from the Shekhawati region are taken care of by the institution in their academic demands.
Shekhawati University, Sikar Act, 2012 was passed by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 2012, officially establishing the institution. The Shekhawati region, which includes the Rajasthani districts of Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Churu, is the area under which the institution is located. By the Shekhawati University, Sikar (Change of Name) Act, 2014, the university's name was changed.
The university was given permission to build its campus on 61 acres (25 hectares) of property close to the community of Katrathal on State Highway 8. At Sikar, behind the Government Girls College, the university maintained operations while the main campus was being built. 2021 saw the university relocate to its current campus.
