The governor of the state of Uttar Pradesh, His Excellency, serves as the university's chancellor. As chancellor, he is the institution's leader and preside over graduation ceremonies. His excellency also exercises the various functions granted to him by university acts and statutes as necessary.
According to the Re-Enactment and Amendment Act of 1974, the University has a board of management (BOM), and the vice-chancellor serves as the BOM's ex-officio chairman. The principal secretary of the state's departments of agriculture, finance, higher education, and director of agriculture and animal husbandry of Uttar Pradesh make up the other ex-officio members. The legislative assembly is represented by one member, while the state administration has nominated five members to represent (01 each) agricultural experts, progressive farmers, livestock breeders, notable industrialists, and exceptional women social workers. In addition, there is one ICAR nominee and one representative of the university's registered graduates. These are the people who made up the BOM from 2012 to 2013.
