On May 21, 2014, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (formerly Kerala Technological University), a State Government University, was established with the goal of providing leadership in the formation of technology-related policy and engineering planning for the State. Additionally, it emphasises raising academic standards for all colleges linked with the university as well as for graduate, postgraduate, and research programmes in engineering, science, technology, and management.
