The first university to be founded in Uttar Pradesh following Independence, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University was founded in 1957 and has consistently worked to live up to its motto, "Let noble thoughts come to me from all directions," by incorporating a variety of viewpoints, ideas, and beliefs into both its academic and professional lives. The University, which bears Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya's name, is situated in Gorakhpur and carries on the humanitarian, patriotic, and spiritual legacies of Buddha, Kabir, Guru Gorakshnath, Bismil, Hanuman Prasad Poddar, and the Geeta Press. Its seven faculties and thirty departments, which are spread across 190.96 acres, have been instrumental in providing holistic education to residents of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Western Bihar, and Nepal since the institution's founding.
