The Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad, was founded in 2015 with the goal of establishing an atmosphere that encourages students and staff to pursue knowledge, dream, think, and invent in order to become change agents for a better society.
IIT Palakkad began with 120 students in 2015 and has since expanded to a student body of over a thousand students and a faculty of qualified and experienced teachers. The Institute sees collaborative cooperation with industry and other academic institutions as a pressing need, with a focus on blue-sky research and focused research as two critical pillars of technology development. With the goal of becoming a pioneer in cross-disciplinary research and contributing to India's demographic dividend potential, and the world, as encapsulated in the institute's motto, "Nurturing minds for a better world."
