The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur (IIITN) is one of the 20 IIITs established by the Indian government as part of a public-private partnership. IIITN was designated as a "Institution of National Importance" and began operations in 2016-17, after which it relocated to its permanent campus in Butibori, Nagpur. Their partners are the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, and Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai (Corporate Partner).
One of the Institute's main goals is to develop competent and capable youth who are instilled with the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as a social and environmental orientation, in order to meet the country's knowledge needs and provide global leadership in the fields of information technology and related fields.
