The Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG), founded in 2013, is a national institution that offers B.Tech., M.Tech., and PhD degrees through a public-private partnership. In first year of eligibility, IIIT - G placed 66th in the NIRF 2020 rank in Engineering category. Classes are planned between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., keeping in mind the academic needs of each student.
All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with projection equipment as well as a Learning Management System (LMS) for online classes. Online tests are conducted using cloud-based technologies. Internet connectivity is provided by a campus-wide wi-fi system, and DG power backup is available in the event of a power outage. The permanent campus, which is built on 67 acres and is around 4 kilometres from the Guwahati airport, was dedicated in 2016.
