SHRI DHARMASTHALA MANJUNATHESHWARA UNIVERSITY DHARWAD has been formed as a State Private University of the State of Karnataka, of unitary type, in Sattur, Dharwad, under the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University Act 2OI8 (Karnataka Act No. 19 of 2018).
The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Education (SDME)Society, Ujre, D.K. Karnataka, has supported the University. SDME Society is a leading non-profit educational institution that operates under the auspices of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala and is led by its illustrious president, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
The SDM Educational Society has been in the field of Education and Health Care since 1903 when Late Shri Manjayya Heggade founded the Gurukula "Siddhavana." Thereafter, Late Shri D. Ratnavarma Heggade established the SDME Trust. Shri D. Veerendra Heggade carried on the heritage and restored it to its former splendor.
