SASTRA Deemed University started in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha College of Engineering, affiliated to the Bharathidasan University, Trichy. In 2001 it was renamed as Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy. It was the first institution to get the 'Deemed University status' in Tamil Nadu. Srinivasa Ramanujam Center at Kumbakonam is attached to it.

In 2011, software company Tata Consultancy Services set a world record of recruiting 1,755 students from SASTRA, the largest recruitment by any company in the world from a single campus

Academic Requirement:

  • The candidate must have a bachelor's degree (B. Tech) in the required field with at least 50% of the required grades from an accredited university.

Entrance Exam:

  • Candidates must qualify for one of the following entrance tests: GATE.

  • Candidate must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% from a central/state board of examination accepted by the discipline of study at SASTRA University.
  • Candidate should have studied the discipline subject at the higher secondary level as the main subject and secured a minimum of 50% aggregate.

Academic Requirement:

  • A graduate degree from any recognized university/institution is required.
  • The candidate should have taken management entrance exams such as the CAT/CMAT/XAT.

Entrance Exam:

  • Admission is granted through marks scored in CAT/ XAT or CMAT.

Academic Requirement:

  • Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.

Academic Requirement:

  • A candidate must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects, as well as Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology, and be recognized by any State Board / Central Board or any other accepted by SASTRA as equivalent to a 10+2 or its equivalent examination, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology obtained in a single sitting.

Entrance Exam:

  • The candidate must qualify the JEE Main entrance exam.
