• Master of Science or an equivalent exam in Veterinary Science from SVVU/ANGRAU or from a school accredited by the ICAR in the relevant field of specialization with at least 70% overall marks under the traditional system of examination, or an OGPA of 2.7 or above on a scale of 4.00 points, or an OGPA of 6.50 or above on a scale of 10.00 points under the grade point system. For SC, ST, and PH applicants, a minimum of 60% overall marks in the conventional system for the Master of Veterinary Science or an OGPA of 2.5 out of 4.00 or 6.00 out of 10.00 in the grade point system is required. A basic degree, such as a B.V.Sc. or A.H., is necessary.
• Candidates who are awaiting the results of their final thesis viva voce may apply. However, they must present a provisional certificate by the entrance exam date or before, or they will not be permitted to take the test.
• Candidates with an M.V.Sc. in one of the major fields listed against each specialization in veterinary science are also eligible for admission to the program.
