On 21 September, 2012, the then President of Sri Lanka Shri Mahindra Rajapaksa laid the foundation stone of the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies together with the former Prime Minister of Bhutan HE Jigme Yoser Thinley on a hillock on the Bhopal-Vidisha Highway having its proximity to Sanchi-better known for its Buddhist stupas.

The University is trying all its earnest efforts for reviving the old glosry of Great Ancient Indian Education System and enlivening the present scenario by adding values to multifaceted aspects of knowledge, practice and wisdom for the benefit of humankind. The University is carving a niche for preserving treasure of knowledge where ancient Indian wisdom is emerging as a guiding spirit for the contemporary knowledge systems.

Sanchi University is established to address the global issues & shall generally cover educationalists, academicians, philosophers, researchers, practitioners across the world but shall primarily focus on Asian countries - the land of genesis & spread of Buddhist-Indic culture. All aspects of Buddhist-Indic Studies from philosophy to culture; from economics to governance shall be addressed in a holistic manner.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates seeking admission to the two-year full-time MA program should satisfy the standards outlined by the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

  • Applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in any field from a legally recognized university or college with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST) or equivalent grade.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aspirants seeking admission to 2 year Full-time MFA Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

  • The candidate must have received at least 55% (or an equivalent grade) in their graduation in any discipline from a university or college recognized by law (or 50% for SC/ST/OBC).

  • The candidate must have received a grade of at least comparable to 55% (or 50% for SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy) on their Master's exam in the relevant topic.

  • Candidates should satisfy the following requirements as outlined by the institute in order to be considered for admission to the three-year full-time Ph.D. program.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT 

  • The candidate must have earned a master's degree in the relevant field with a grade of at least 55% (for SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy, it must be 50%) or an equivalent.
