About

Future marine markets are expected to come from the Indian maritime industry, which has been steadily showing great development. The Gujarat Maritime Board's effort to close the industry's knowledge gap through the formation of Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is intended to promote this expansion.

According to the Gujarat Private Universities Act of 2009, Gujarat Maritime University was founded.

Gujarat Maritime University's main goal is to become an international centre of excellence in marine education, research and development, and professional training. It also strives to improve and expand the human capital and capability of the maritime sector in India and throughout the world.

The goal is to benefit the international marine community by creating knowledgeable and skilled maritime workers.

The University intends to provide courses in the first phase that focus on the business-related elements of the marine value chain, such as maritime law, shipping finance and economics, maritime management, logistics, ship broking, ship financing, chartering, and ship management, to mention a few. Additionally, there will be short-term executive and management development programmes in the initial phase. The technological issues will be the main topic of the second segment.
