Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa was established on October 7, 2016 following the conversion of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, a state agricultural university established in 1970 by the Government of Bihar, a historical place where the idea of agricultural research and education first took shape. The British Government created the Agricultural Research Institute and College, Pusa in 1905 in response to the country's chronic food crisis. In its current position, the university extends its authority and duty in the disciplines of teaching, research, and extension in agriculture and related sciences to the entire country, with specific reference to the state of Bihar.
