About

The Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University established by an Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2004, is unique and the first of its kind in India as an affiliatory University, exclusively for Physical Education and Sports. After obtaining the accent from his Excellency the president of India on 5th August 2005, the said act came into force with effect from 15th September 2005.

It is a rare coincidence that the University has started functioning from December 2005, declared by the United Nations as International year for Sport and Physical Education. At present the University has three Faculties, five Departments and ten affiliated Colleges. Further the University now offers select Physical Education and Allied Courses, through collaborative programme and Distance Education stream also.

M.Phil	Applied Psychology Clinical Psychology Management Physical Education Psychology Sociology Yoga	ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Candidates seeking admission to the one-year full-time M.Phil program must have an M.Sc in Yoga.
M.Sc	Acupuncture Exercise Physiology and Nutrition Memory Development and Psycho Neorobics Physiology Psychology Sociology Psychology Sports Coaching Sports Journalism Sports Psychology Sports Psychology and Sociology Varma and Thokkanam Science Yoga Yoga and Naturopathy Yoga for Human Excellence Yoga Therapy	ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Aspirants seeking admission to the two-year full-time M.Sc. program must have completed any Graduate (10+2+3) course.
M.A	Sociology	ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA The basic eligibility for admission to MA Sociology has been mentioned below. Graduation degree in any stream Students with Arts and Humanities stream have, however, an advantage Minimum pass percentage required varies from 45% to 50% Students from Science and Education streams should have 60% or above in their graduation degree for admission to MA Sociology course.
Ph.D	Exercise Physiology and Nutrition Physical Education Physiology Sports Coaching Sports Management Sports Psychology and Sociology Sports Technology Yoga	ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Admission to the three-year full-time Ph.D. program requires an M.Sc. in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition or an M.Phil. in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition.
M.E / M.Tech	Information Technology	ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Admission to the two-year full-time M.TEch program requires a B.E/equivalent degree in any subject.
