About

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level. TNNLU is the brainchild of the former Honble Chief Minister Dr. J Jayalalithaa who laid its foundation stone on 13th February 2012.

TNNLU is located in 25 acre campus in the Tiruchirappalli-Dindigul NH 45, at Navalurkuttappattu Village, about 12 kilometres from Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction / Central Bus Stand.

Tiruchirappalli, known as Rock Fort City, is well connected by road, rail and air. Trichy has daily flights from Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kochi. Madurai, a well-connected airport, is a hour and half by road from TNNLU.

TNNLU is located about 10 kilometres from District and Sessions Court and other Sub-ordinate Courts, thus facilitating easy and effective interaction between the TNNLU and the Bar.

Course Specialization Eligibility

B.Com LLB (Hons)

 Bachelor of Commerce - Bachelor of Law

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aspirants seeking admission to this Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

  • The candidate must have a 10+2 degree with a 45% (40% in the case of SC/ST) from a recognized university.

ENTRANCE EXAM

  • Admissions will be based solely on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores. 

 

 

BA LLB (Hons)

 Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aspirants seeking admission to this Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

  • The candidate must have completed 10+2 with a 45% (40% in the case of SC/ST) from a recognized university.

ENTRANCE EXAM

  • Admissions will be based solely on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores. 

LL.M

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aspirants seeking admission to this Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT

  • Candidates must have completed a three or five-year LL.B./or its equivalent with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST students).

 ENTRANCE EXAM

  • Admission will be based only on the scores obtained in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). 

Ph.D

 Law

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Aspirants seeking admission to a 3-year full-time Ph.D. Program should have done Post Graduation in relevant discipline with a minimum 55% marks.
