Airport ground handling staff play a critical role for smooth running of any airport or any airline. Apart from range of opportunities, it also offers a very rewarding career.
Some of the roles handled by ground staff are Flight dispatcher, Crew schedule coordinator, Airline ticketing agent, Passenger service agent, Airline station agent are some roles handled by ground staff. These roles includes and is not limited in helping with boarding and de boarding passengers, their luggage, solving passenger queries, assisting passengers who are elderly, with disabilities, and with children, updating passengers with change in flight schedules, updating flight plan based on various factors. Ground crew are responsible for everything to make passengers journey joyful.
To handle their role, ground staff should possess interpersonal skills, managerial skills, empathy and be customer keeping Airline interests in mind. On the downside, work hours could be stretched at times and have to manage their time well.
