Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)
Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) is an undergraduate medical degree in Siddha medicine, one of the traditional systems of medicine in India. The course is offered by government and private colleges and universities across India.
The duration of the BSMS course is 5 years, including a one-year internship. The curriculum covers topics such as Siddha philosophy, anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, therapeutics, and surgery. Students also learn about the use of Siddha herbs, minerals, and other natural substances for the treatment of diseases.
To be eligible for admission to a BSMS program, students should complete their 10 + 2/Intermediate/PUC with Biology, Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects. They must also have passed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for AYUSH, which is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
