Helapuri Institute of Technology and Science, was established under the aegis of Sri Gayathri Educational Society, Sattupally, in the year 2009-10. The college is affiliated to JNTU-K. The college is located in a serene environment, far away from rush and gush of urban life, surrounded by green fields and highly favorable for study environment. The college is located on the Eluru-Jangareddygudem highway and is well connected road transport system, and is about 5km from Eluru.
Started with an initial intake of 240, 60each in four branches in B.Tech, viz., ECE, EEE, Civil, & CSE, steadily make strides with increase in intake in ECE and EEE branches to 120 each in the next year. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering was introduced in year 2011-12. The AICTE had sanctioned two M.Tech programmers in ECE and EEE departments from academic year 2012-13 and two more specializations in MTech in Civil and Mechanical Engineering from 2014-15 onwards.
