The Government Engineering College in Haveri, Karnataka, was founded in 2007 to provide inexpensive technical education to the rural people of Northern Karnataka. It offers a B. tech programme with 60 seats in each course in several specialities such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. In 2015, it began offering postgraduate courses in structural engineering and machine design, as well as a Ph.D. programme in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. KCET and PGCET exams are used UG & PG admissions respectively.
