Government Engineering College, Hassan (GECH) was founded in 2007 and is connected with Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belgaum. It is also authorised by the AICTE in New Delhi. During the 2007-08 academic year, the Karnataka government's Department of Technical Education opened ten engineering institutions. GEC Hassan is one such college, offering four engineering branches, including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. In forty acres of land, a massive edifice with planned utilities has risen. The government of Karnataka conducts a CET for admission to the college.
