Shamsul – Ulama Memmorial (SUM) College of Teacher Education is situated in a peaceful and picturesque area near Mamba mosque Muzhappala, Chakkarakkal. It is nearly 17km away from Kannur Railway Station and Bus stand and 10km away from the ongoing Kannur airport. The college now functioning in a newly constructed building and comes under the jurisdiction of Ancharakkandy Grama Panchayath. The college started functioning during the academic Year 2006 – 2007.
