Don Bosco Arts and Science College (DBASC), Angadikadavu's origins can be traced back to 1992. Mr. Thomas Thanangattu, a former Don Bosco student and owner of GINA Engineering Company, a leading construction firm in Bangalore, donated six acres of land from his ancestral property to the Salesians of Don Bosco for the establishment of a college for those seeking a quality institute for higher education in Kerala's northern districts.
Don Bosco Arts & Science College began in 1994 as a Parallel College, with Fr. Thomas Poovelickal SDB as Rector and Manager, and Bro. Shaji Kalavanal SDB as Principal, offering pre-degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses from Calicut University to approximately 600 students.
Don Bosco Parallel College was elevated to a Kannur University affiliated Self-Financing College in 2002, with Master of Computer Applications (MCA) as its sole academic program. In 2003, two new postgraduate programs were launched: the Master of Communication and Journalism (MCJ) and the Master of Social Work (MSW). In 2005, three undergraduate programs were launched: BA English Literature, BCom, and BSc Mathematics. In 2006, Savio Home, a full-fledged men's hostel, was blessed.
On November 8, 2008, Don Bosco Arts & Science College was formally separated from Don Bosco College to a new campus in accordance with the requirements of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Maria Niketan, a postgraduate student hostel, and T J Arcade, a UG girls hostel, both opened in June 2013 and May 2018, respectively. In 2012, three undergraduate programs (BCom Co-operation, BBA, and BCA) and two postgraduate programs (MA English Literature and MCom Finance) were added. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Science in Mathematics (MScM) degrees were introduced in 2015 and 2017, respectively. In 2018, two new courses, B.Com Finance and B.Sc Psychology, were introduced.
