Majlis Arts and Science College is a multidisciplinary institution affiliated to the University of Calicut, approved by the Government of Kerala and recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. Beginning with a minimum of four programmes in 1995, it has grown to the prestigious position as one of the biggest self-financing colleges in the state.
The premier higher educational institution run by AMLI Society constituted by a group of educationalists and philanthropists is a part of the Majlis Educational Complex comprising a group of educational institutions at different levels, where more than 4000 students of various age groups are being educated.
Located in a luxuriant green campus, the college is spread over 12 acres of land at Puramannur in Irimbiliyam Grama Panchayath, seven kilometers northeast of Valanchery and 1.5 km from Valanchery-Perinthalmanna road in Malappuram District. It got Minority Status from the Ministry of Minority Welfare, Govt. of India, on 15-05-2012. The College has celebrated its silver jubilee anniversary in the academic year 2019-20 and has been imparting value based quality education with a priority to the rural community since its inception, with a view to empower the socially and economically backward and the marginalized.
Presently, the college is catering to more than 2300 students from across the state, in 16 undergraduate and Seven Postgraduate programmes, including highly career-oriented programmes such as Multimedia, Mass Communication, Visual Communication, Travel and Tourism, Microbiology and various add-on courses.
The college pioneered various strategies to educate the backward classes of the society such as offering institutional scholarships and free ships to 20% of the poor and destitute students regardless of their religion and caste.
The college has all the state-of the art infrastructural facilities such as a Multimedia studio, e-Content Development Center, well-equipped laboratories and classrooms. The college also provides ample facility for cultural, sports and games activities.
It has sustained the long-term commitment towards the society and unswerving stand to universal human values by adhering to the vision of culture-oriented and value-based quality education.
