Jesus Training College, Mala, is a teacher education institution owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Irinjalakuda. It is affiliated with the University of Calicut. This temple of teaching and learning, dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus, our Saviour and the Eternal Guru, has already carved a niche for itself in the educational landscape of central Kerala in a short period of time. The college enjoys a cool and fresh breeze from the rustic rivulets and backwaters glittering in the sun shine, which is a blessing for serene and sheer intellectual exercise where learning is an exhilarating experience.
The establishment of the college in 1995 by Mar James Pazhayattil, himself a teacher for many years, was a watershed moment in the Diocese's history. In Kerala, north of Kochi, there were only five teacher education colleges. And this institution was the Catholic Community's response to the region's ever-increasing demand for teacher education. The college was affiliated with Calicut University on May 4, 1995, and was recognized by NCTE in 2000.
