Al Jamia Arts and Science College was founded in 2010 with the goal of educating Muslims and other communities and molding them into professionally competent, socially responsible, and morally sound citizens. The minority college is affiliated with the University of Calicut and is approved by the Kerala government.
The campus is located in Poopalam, 2.5 kilometers from Perinthalmanna Town on the Perinthalmanna-Ootty road, and 2 kilometers from Pattikkad railway station. It is the sister institution of Al Jamia Al Islamiya, which is run by the Islamic Mission Trust (IMT) in Santhapuram, Pattikkad, and Perinthalmanna.
