Sullamussalam Arabic College was founded in 1944 and was originally affiliated to the University of Madras 1955. Later, it came under the university of Kerala before being affiliated to the University of Calicut in 1968. Late N.V. Abdussalam Moulavi, a social reformer, and visionary, was the founder of the college. The college has a ten-member governing body with Prof. NV Abdul Rahman (Syndicate Member, Calicut University) as Manager And MT Abdussathar as Secretary.
