C.H.M.K.M. Govt. Arts & Science College Tanur was founded in 2013 as part of a project to establish new Arts and Science Colleges in Assembly constituencies where there is no Govt. or Aided college. The College is affiliated with the University of Calicut. The college is now temporarily located in Puthentheru, about 2 kilometers from Tanur town. It provides UG courses such as B.A English, B.Com, BBA, BCA, and B.Sc Electronics. The college has served as a gateway to the world of higher education for the general public, particularly those from coastal areas. The college also fulfilled a long-held dream of the people of Tanur constituency. Sri's never-ending efforts. Abdul Rahman Randathani, the then HonorableMLA of Tanur, made the dream of thousands of people living on the Malappuram district's coastal outskirts a reality. The College was inaugurated on August 1, 2013 by Kerala's then-Chief Minister, Sri.Oommen Chandy.
The college was founded on the initiative and dynamic leadership of people like Honorable MLA Shri. V Abdurahiman and other well-wishers, regardless of their politics or religion. The region is blessed with cultural and religious harmony among its people, which serves as an inspiration to students. The college continues its arduous journey with the great pleasure of having two batches of graduates with outstanding results to its credit.
