The Archdiocese of Changnacherry is home to the Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT), which was founded by the Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES). The main reason LMIHMCT was founded was to provide high-quality education in the area of hotel management. The college is affiliated with the University of Kerala and has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The idea of "hospitality" originated from the basic human instinct to care for others and developed into one of the most significant industries of the modern era. The hospitality culture has become inescapable and transcends both time and space.
Over the past few years, this industry has undergone a tremendous metamorphosis that has increased competition. This makes it necessary for new business owners who want to take the plunge to have the best support possible. Today, this industry is defined by a greater emphasis on quality management, customer relationships, and a constant need for change. Professional consulting, planning, and implementation are unavoidably required to maintain this space.
At Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT), we offer essential inputs to meet the constantly rising needs and expectations of corporate clients as well as independent business owners. This is a dynamic industry that frequently tests and researches the boundaries of marketing and cuisine. The traditional classroom instruction at this institute is supplemented by off-campus experience and professional practice in a variety of industry sectors, from hotel and food operations to meeting conventions and expositions, with participating companies in top hotel industries having tie-ups and associations with LMIHMCT.
The Hospitality Research and Campus Recruitment Center is also located at the college. These divisions will collaborate, help business professionals with unique projects, and give students real-world experience. The College of Hotel Management uses cutting-edge teaching techniques and maintains a student teacher ratio of 15:1, all of whom are supported by more than 15 full-time faculty members who have extensive professional experience. Classes are held in attractive, roomy buildings that include three kitchens, a dining hall with seating for 150 people, a cafeteria, a demonstration kitchen, and a computer lab that is only used by the College. The classrooms are also fully equipped.
