In 1994, Mavelikkara's College of Applied Sciences was founded. The institution is a part of the University of Kerala, and it is run by the Institute for Human Resources Development, Thiruvananthapuram, a project of the Keralan government that is more commonly referred to as the IHRD in the state's higher education community. The college started out with just two undergraduate programs in computer science and electronics. The college has worked tirelessly to uphold the highest standards possible in both its academic and extracurricular offerings over the years. The institution has developed into a college with regular courses in B.Sc. Computer Science, BCA, B.Sc. Electronics, B.Sc. Physics & Computer Application, B.Com Finance, B.Com. with Computer Application, B.Com. Commerce & Tax Procedure and Practice, and BBA, as well as two full-fledged postgraduate departments in Computer Science, Electronics, and Commerce & Management. In addition, the college offers PGDCA, DCA, and CCLIS courses taught by the Institute of Human Resources Development. There are two campuses at our college.
1. Main Campus: Located in the Mavelikara BHSS Government Compound. On the main campus, the Department of Computer Science and Electronics is operational. BSc Computer Science, BCA, BSc Electronics, BSc Physics & Computer Application, MSc Computer Science, MSc Electronics, DCA, CCLIS, and PGDCA are the courses offered on the main campus.
2. Thazhakkara Campus: Located in Mavelikara, close to the government hospital. On the Thazhakkara campus, the Department of Business and Management is operational. B.Com Finance, B.Com & CA, B.Com Commerce & Tax Procedure and Practice, BBA, and M.Com Finance are the courses offered at the Thazhakkara campus.
