About

The Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam, established Sree Narayana College, Cherthala, with the goal of providing higher education to young men and women from underserved communities in the area. Based on Sree Narayana Guru's teachings, the college places a special emphasis on character development and social commitments. Guru believed that "educated youth could shatter the bonds of social discrimination and face life's challenges with confidence and pride."

On July 14, 1964, the late Sri R. Shanker, the founder Secretary of S.N Trusts and the then Chief Minister of Kerala, inaugurated the college, realising the Guru's dreams and materialising exhortations such as "Educate that you may be free" and "Enlightenment through Eduacation." The Guru's message of "One Caste, One Religion, and One God for Man" is upheld in all aspects of the institution's operation.
