The College is appropriately situated in Pangode, a historic village on the outskirts of the Reserve forests of the Western Ghats, bordering the Thiruvanthapuram district of Kerala. The institution was founded on the prophetic vision of Jamia Mannaniya Islamiya Charitable Society's congregation of erudite and pious Muslim scholars. This picturesque campus, nestled in the lush greenery of plantations, sprawls across 16 acres of picturesque land, providing a pleasantly serene ambience that fosters the teaching learning process. The College opened on July 3, 1995, and classes for the first batch of students began on August 11, 1995. There were only three courses available at the time of its inception: BA Islamic History, B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry, and B.Com Co-operation. The Institution has gradually broadened its horizon by increasing the quantity and quality of its offerings through competence and flair.
B.Com Travel and Tourism was introduced in 1999, and M.Com was introduced in 2013. In 2014, B.Sc Polymer Chemistry was converted to B.Sc Chemistry. Since 2004, the college has held UGC 2(F) and 12(B) status, and it was granted minority status by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) in December 2010.
The first batch of students graduated in 1998, and hundreds of graduates have passed through Mannaniya's magnificent doors since then. It is gratifying that they are playing a pivotal role in the intellectual development of society in various capacities. They are the torchbearers of the renaissance envisioned by the Mannaniya Movement. The College now serves approximately 600 students from Thiruvananthapuram district's hilly panchayats, bridging class, caste, creed, and religion barriers.
