Welcome to Chavara's Baby John Memorial Government College.
Baby John Memorial Govt. College, Chavara, established in 1981, has been serving as a knowledge tower for the last 38 years, focusing on the coastal and rural populations of Kerala's Kollam district. The college embodies the philosophy embodied in the logo: "Sathayam Param Dheemahi" by providing the highest quality higher education to qualified students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. As a state-owned college, the institution offers the best value-based education system at a low cost. The goal is to provide students with quality education and exposure to novel learning experiences, as well as to prepare them to meet the most recent academic requirements and life skills through innovative techniques and best practises. We recognise that proper education is the best way to uplift youth, particularly in rural and coastal areas, and we are inextricably linked and committed to providing meaningful education to our students. Currently, the College offers eight degree programmes (B.Com Cooperation, B.Com Computer Application, B.A. English, B.A. History, B.Sc. Zoology, B.Sc. Chemistry, and B.Sc. Physics). B.Sc. Mathematics and two postgraduate courses (M.Sc. Mathematics and M.Com. Finance).
The College currently has over 1150 students, 40 permanent teachers, 10 guest teachers, 10 administrative staff, and 12 support staff. On NH 47, the campus sprawls across a panoramic landscape of six acres. The infrastructure includes five cutting-edge labs, as well as other related facilities and learning amenities. The school has two NSS units and one NCC unit. In addition, we offer a continuing education programme for former knowledge seekers. Many socially significant academic activities are run by the College, including ASAP, FLAIR, SSP, and WWS, which were initiated by the federal and state governments. We recognise that the course of higher education is changing. Our community service in the past has been impeccable and time-tested.
From the preparation of the college academic plan to the evaluation feedback, we take great care to ensure quality, transparency, and, most importantly, professionalism. With the strong support of PTA and Alumni, we are constantly and meticulously upgrading our infrastructure to reach out to the student community on a par with the ever-growing demands of novel academic yardsticks.
